Bartimaeus Trilogy Review

The Bartimaeus Trilogy
By: Johnathon Stroud

Book 1: The Amulet of Samarkand
Book 2: The Golems Eye
Book 3: Ptolemy's Gate.

I just finished. All of them. Today.

well...
I loved it! I was first introduced to the book in K-Mart while strolling down....

BUT REVIEW FIRST, STORY LATER!

Review

Johnathon Strouds "Bartimaeus Trilogy" is about a young magician named Nathaniel he somehow feels that he could out-do any other magician even the Senior MAGICIANSZ! when really he's barely started school. Now these magicians are different they dont just "have power!" "ABRAKA-FRIKKEN-DABRA!".

NO.
They use magical creatures to help them. Once these magical creatures are summoned...They are slaves to the magician who summoned them until the magician feels he has no more doings for the djinni. Bartimaeus is the djinni that Nathaniel summons one day because he seeks revenge, revenge over a certain magician he feels he can outwit. Nathaniel & Bartimaues face everything together and along the way they come across someone unexpected: A Commoner. watch Stroud's fascinating tail of magic and espionage spin together to make the most realistically fascinating book i've read.

The book was was beautiful, well written with wry, witty, sarcasm that makes me fall in loooove with Bartimaues. when you get the book, you will find footnotes in certain chapters. These footnotes are only present when Bartimaeus is narrating. He is a wonderful narator and i love his sense of humor. The footnotes will have you rolling on the floor lauphing. & when u sit back down on your seat you will be on edge because if your not lauphing yous being shocked, suprised, or just simply thrilled. The whole 3 books are wonderful. its not one of those trilogies were the author gets sick of their own book and loses enthusiasm so the books lose spark as the books go on, but rather they get better and better!! its a wonderful series and...

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I was strolling down the 10 foot long shelving of best sellers and crappy [[never-looked-at-twice]] books WHEN, all of a sudden something shiny caught my eye. [[i kno it sounds cliche` but Hey! its true...the cover was smooth and colorful and shiny]] so i see this book i've been DYING to read [[Artemis Fowl]] and all of a sudden pershed right next to it are 3 extremely GORGEOUS BOOKSZ! i bent over picked it up and read the back....intriguing as it was i only bought it because my private book wasnt there and they desperately lacked the proper materials fr me to walk around content so i strolled off with the book and bribed peter 2 buy it for me [[i would be silent for the rest of the day]] of course like "all" booksz there were some parts that i had to put the book down and re-adjust before starting over....but there is no perfect book an this book is pretty DAMN close!! =D

JUNO

JUNO
Photobucket

Juno w Ellen Page and Micheal Cera is about 16 yr old Juno MacGuff who who is faced w an unplanned pregnancy. She finds the perfect couple to adopt her baby and flirts with adulthood. She faces the complications of denial and relationship issues because of her divorced parents. She faces not only the typical difficulties of Teenage pregnancy but the more complex inner emotions of the whole ordeal...its a GR8 movie. I loved it from Beginning to End because of its constant wry//sarcastic humor. Micheal was GR8, just as he was in SuperBad, the movie constantly has yuh lauphing. i loved it. Ellen Page was exquisite, she's a wonderfull actress. she was perfect for the part, you could really tell she understood and FELT her role. her humor was fantastic, and so were her actions...the music was guhd too. haha i mite just buy the soundtrack....

I AM LEGEND

I AM LEGEND.

I AM LEGEND starring Will Smith and a beautiful German Shepherd was about the "only one" [[Will Smith]]. I walked into the movie theatre without reading a review or even fully knowing what it was about. and i loved it.
Its the future [[2020 to be exact]] and the cure of cancer is found. Unfortunately this cure unleashes some type of disease which changes living form. Humans die out n those who catch eat people. Theres no cure, and Will Smith searches willingly because he feel he can "fix this".

It was a great, i loved the movie. and would watch it again in a heartbeat. It was kind of creepy but all together it was an outstanding performance. It really got you thinking, and i sure as hell scared the crap out of me but it was guhd. Will Smith's performance was OUTSTANDING, i mean you felt every emotion that passed his face. The whole movie kept you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end, very nail-biting and such, etc, etc. The ending was just a bit lacking. But this was probably just because the movie was soo action packked it constantly kept you on your toes. and i barely had time to comprehend the climax before the end credits were pushed on screen. just my valued opinion of course but what ever.

Living with a Clepto

Living with a Clepto.

Rules to Living with a Poor excuse of a Klepto; which means they're not really mentally disturbed its just so much as they cant take their eyes off of what you have;otherwise known as Bootleg Clepto.

1. Distance yourself from them. Because once they've reached your comfort zone thats their comfort zone as well.
2. Leave them with no trust or respect. they should be treated like the grovel beneath your feet. Dirty and virtually useless.
3. No counting money in front of them. IDC if its 30 cents; dont do it.
4. Dont invite them to parties. i mean come on; we're talking about a Clepto HERE.
5. You probably should confront them; even though chances are they're going to deny everything you accuse them of because 99.9% of the Clepto population also happen to make up a large number of the Liar population. Who knew, right?
6. Buy better Locks. Clepto's happen to be excellent lockpicks.
7. Dont be nice...that attracts them and gives them more of an excuse to be around your pretty valuables.
8. Dont expect anything at all; especially smiles because Clepto's happen to be stingy and cheap.
9. Leave the lights on when you leave the house. enouph said.
10. Dont bother hinting; they have no conscience.

P.S. i love you

P.S. I Love You Review

P.S. I love you with Hilary Swank [[Freedom Writers]], Harry Connick Jr [[singer//Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock]], Lisa Kudrow [[Friends the TV show]]and a really cute Irish guy whose name im unsure of.
Personally i liked the movie in general, it was pretty sad. The beginning is a bit depressing, and of course im known to shed a few tears. i cried a little, lauphed alot. it was a funny movie. Like most Romance/Comedy's the movie had its embarrassing scenes along with a few heart-breaking ones. i liked it alot. It was about a woman whose Husband dies just 3weeks before her birthday because of a brain tumor, he knew he was going to die and planned on her getting letters from him even after his death. She gets these letters telling her silly little things like:
by a new outfit, get a realistic job, stop mourning his death, take a vacation, go to a club, etc. and she does these things all the while meeting 2new interesting guys in this odd way. As she does everything he says she remembers him more&more and feels him around her. Small things trigger her memory and she recalls, how they first met, some conversation, or special dates they went on. its all really cute and heart touching. I wasnt really into the ending...that much. i would've perferred a different one. Just my opinion, Go watch it, but take a box of cleanex if your one to cryy. =]

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac
By Gabriel Zevin

Now from what I've heard of Zevin. Zevin's a really good author, Now if you havent read any of Zevin's work before now...dont read this book.
Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac is about a Teenage girl, Naomi, whose life changes on because of a coin toss. [[Em rolls eyes]] She hits her head, and gets amnesia, she doesnt remember anything, but from the things she's told and sees for herself she doesnt like much...love takes a toll of her own as she slowly starts to see things for herself. ETC.

REVIEW
Any tipical Amnesia story. How come the books like this lack originality? i mean i highly doubt that ALL amnesiacs wouldnt like their old selfs...i mean if i got amnesia, i wouldnt try to change myself, just because i've found out the messed up stuff i've done! i've done some pretty good stuff too. i mean not everything is "crap i was a bitch, now i have to start from scratch and be this cool person i was [[apparently]] incapable of being while i was my original self...HECK why not throw in NEW friends!!" Boo Hoo same story. cry me a frikken river!

yeaa didnt like it. it had no point. the ending was nothing to me...and neither was the plot. it was like blank paper to me. only blank paper could have been put into better use. NO BASHINGS MEANT TOWARDS THE AUTHOR!!

Walk the Line with Joaquin Phoenix starring as, Johnny Cash, and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter. I know, I know, I know the movie was made in 2005...im a little l8. But the truth is...im not. My mom is a movie freak and brought this when it first came out. i watched half of it....and didnt even pay attention to that half...so here you go...a long over-due review!

The movie was good! GR8 REALLY!! I loved Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash...i felt like i was APART of experiences...i cried when he cried...i was so depressed when he was...i felt his love for June Carter...how she was ALWAYS by his side even when he was being so intolerable...& the ending was just...just soo...OMG just watch the movie [[if you havent already]]. its a must-see, guarantee you'll love it and always look back on it for refernce. BTW when i finished watching this movie and went to work on my review...i was listening o T.o.K' s song "Footprints" so excuse me for adding some of their lyrics...its a good song. *hee*hee*

Bronx Zoo

Im back. The trip was cool...if Peter & Gissal hadnt been kind of bugging me at the Bronx Zoo though,
"Whats wrong? you look so mopey!"
"Do me a favor kid, pretend to have fun."
"Oh really why are you never satisfied!"
"Are you unhappy or do you just not smile?"
"Walk faster if you want to leave so damn badly!"
WTH?! Im a slow walker and couldnt help if my facial expression wasnt up to par...sorry.[[i mean do you know anyone whose ALWAYS smiling?! WTH?! let me think to myself and not think about my surroundings while we're walking in a pakway of flowers]]. And apparently, according to Gissal, im a little to sarcastic for anyones company...ughhh. Just because they gave me some crappy dinosaur stick on tatoo & i might have said "wow, next time i come im gonna run straight here to hit up this rack of graphics." Hmmm. maybe it was my MF tone. Ughh. i cant help my wry humor... ANYWAY.
The Zoo was cool. Literally, i thought i had Frostbite First degree when i forgot how to use my fingers.

The Bronx Zoo

The Butterfly tent wasnt exactly all that...would've been better in the summer maybe...but they should do something about the season changes. I really liked their Reptile House thing. It was cool, the Crocodiles were fascinating...but also filled with idiots [[Not any different from Peter]] who kept tapping on the glass displays just to annoy the animals...Damn A-Holes. OKay, so i LOVE LOVE LOVED the Snake displays...i was absolutely fascinated...didnt even want to leave man. The Turtles were cool, boring...but cool. Mouse House was...well pretty gross but otherwise very interesting. Hmmm i really liked the Tiger's section, they just love getting close to the glass...i took a few pictures with my camera fone but if they come out OK-Looking I'll definitely put them up...Id have to say i loved the Snow Leopards...They were adorably cute and extremely playful, they kept biting their tails and trying to walk with branches in their mouth...i have really good pictures of that, but I'll put them up L8R on. The Holiday Lights were OKAY...didnt get what all the HYPE was about though...If you go for the Smores better make sure you yell at those people to get it RIGHT!! lol ...i could have more hype for the little light-up souveneirs though..they were..cute...and oh-so-ORIGINA`L
[[This is where i snicker wil,dly leaning into the labtop screen slapping my knee]]
The Zoo in general was good though. Tigers and Reptile house were the must-see's. Then again thats just MY opiniion...

Beowulf

Photobucket

I thought it was a good movie. C didnt like it at ALL though. it was 5 of us. uh Me, C, & friends from my old Elementary School D, JB, & J. NO one's dating anyone J & JB are friends only, i have enouph guy problems without help from them too. D's really cool i hadnt even noticed how much i missed her until we were at the movie just like all those other times, that are only blurred memories now.i recall a time when me & her had once considered each other "BESTFRIENDS" however that was before i discovered that friends dont come in bests like that for me... i sat between JB & D my arm hooked through hers just in case i needed something to hide behind.

BEOWULF
Personally, I liked the movie. The Graphics were better in some parts than in others...i'd have to say they were best during the Fighting scenes along with the Gory ones. It was rather interesting in the beginning, A little gory but intriguing. The middle was something different all together, it wasnt as exciting as the beginning, though it did give some background that the movie needed. The movie was pretty funny, it had that sarcastic humor i love [[& have myself]]. Then again some things were just funny because when you went back to think of them your like wow, WTH was that lol. yeah. the ending was rather TOO ironic for my taste, but what ever, you had to see it coming.I thought it was pretty good all around. More satisfying in someways, then others. Then agains my friends hated it... but i guess thats because there all still wearing their diapers.

Twilight

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So i read this book Twilight because it was recommended to me by a friend. Its about this girl [[Bella Swan]] who falls head over heals for this guy [[Edward Cullen]] who she later finds out to be a vampire. yeaaaah, your thinking ew ANOTHER vampire book or wow i read something just like that last week. wrong. its not just ANY other vampire book [[and i KNOW books]] but believe it or not it really is a good book. it has everything. a little Mystery with some Romance & its not that they do it everyother day kind of book its just that innocent romantic sweet kind of thing that everyone wishes they could have [[if they DONT already]] yes. the book is Greater then Great. i recommend it to anyone. its just one of those books that no matter how many times you read it you get the same feel as the first time you read it. the same reacctions and feelings just like the first time. everything is FRESH and execiting. i LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. yepp. so whenever im feeling blue or upset. this book cheers me up b/c of its sweetness & sincerity. its even being compared to Romeo & Juliet b/c what their doing is SO WRONG. yet...so RIGHT. yeah. All in all; a really good book.
